Peters Canyon Trail Work

Published on January 22, 2009 under Peters Canyon

On a crisp clear Saturday morning on Jan 10th 2009, 15 or so fellow park users and SHARE members met at Peters Canyon Park for a morning of trail maintenance. After a season of little or no rain the trails get some wear and tear and need some TLC. This trail at Peters Canyon had some areas where trail users had made the trail wider and also some areas that need water drainage. We started at the bottom and worked our way to the top.

This part of the trail users had been going to the left of the sign that clearly indicates users to go to the right. We brought in some natural debris and broke up the ground so users would be discouraged to go that way.
Here is another example of an area that needs to be brought back to single track.
Here is Ken our Treasurer showing us how its done!

The day ended successfully with a completely repaired trail. After all that hard work volunteers were rewarded with refreshments and food at BJ’s.
Next trail work……Jan 24th El Morro State Park 8am, Meet at end of Ridge Park.
