Crystal Cove State Park Trail Work Day Cancelled

Published on December 11, 2009 under Trail Work

Saturday’s Crystal Cove State Park Trail Work Day has been cancelled due to rain
All, the December 12, 2009 Crystal Cove State Park Trail Work Day has been cancelled due to the very high probability of additional rain and muddy conditions. The park recently received almost 1.5 inches of much needed rain and was closed today due to muddy conditions. Our parks will soon be green and our trails ready for trail work and planting. We currently have over 500 plants ready to be planted and have the designs for improvements to the new and improved Ticketron trail. Our next event will be on January 9, 2010. Please mark your calendars.
Do Not Ride The Trails When The Parks Are Closed Due To Wet Conditions
Hiking, Horseback Riding, or Mountain Biking when the parks are closed due to rains and wet muddy conditions quickly degrades our valuable trails and is a very very poor practice. Poor trail conditions do not allow any response to emergencies such as bad crashes or falls and trespassing when the parks are closed is also illegal and subject to tickets and fines.

Bring a willingness to enjoy nature and get a little dirty planting, watering, and working on building a new trail in Crystal Cove State Park. Again, this month?s events will focus on restoring over ? acres of Coastal Sage Scrub environment. The Hike or ride bike to event is 1.2 miles. This is a great way to enjoy nature and earn community service hours. We look forward to seeing you.
