2013 SHARE Mountain Bike Poker Ride was a success.

Share Mountain Bike wishes to than all the participants, vendors, and volunteers that participated in the 2013 Poker Ride.

2013 Share Poker Ride Overview

2013 was one of the biggest Share Mountain Bike Club Poker Rides ever! What a great way to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. We had 126 participants and 26 volunteers and 10 great partners / vendors.

This year was great ride, great fun, great food, great beer, and great prizes.

First, a thanks to all our volunteers: Kevin, Danny, Bob, Christine, Edward, Colin, Freddy, Mark, Jeremy, Dave, Phil, Reed, Barry, Margo, Sonomi, Bao, Lynn, Carolyn, Chris, Keith, Jim, Loren, Steve, Carolyn, Paul, and Brad. We could not do this event without you. Great job!

Second, thanks to all our great partners.

Third, thanks to the 126 participants in making the 2013 Poker Ride a wonderful event. Share Mountain Bike Club is a 100% volunteer organization. 100% of the money raised will be used to improve the trail systems and parks and to improve and enhance the mountain bike experience in Orange County.

Join SHARE Mountain Bike Club of Orange County in celebrating our club’s 25th year and  celebrating our first year of being Orange County’s IMBA chapter mountain bike club. The 2013 SHARE/IMBA Poker Ride is on May 18th at 8 am in Santiago Oaks Regional Park. Ride is $25 for all participants. Post ride lunch and beverages is $10 (free for SHARE/IMBA members). The event raises critically needed money sponsoring trail work and wilderness restoration projects throughout Orange County. There will be a great post ride raffle, lunch and a wide selection of fine beverages from our sponsor New Belgium Brewing Company!

If you haven’t renewed your IMBA/SHARE membership yet, this is a great time to do it. IMBA/SHARE members get the post ride lunch and beverages for free!

Please join OC Parks and IMBA/SHARE Mountain Bike Club for Trail Work in Orange County. We will be completing much needed trail work in our local Orange County parks.

Santiago Oaks Regional Park – Saturday – February 9

Join SHARE mtb and IMBA on Saturday, February 9th for some much needed trail work in Santiago Oaks Regional Park (SORP) . We will be working on the Chutes Ridgeline and will be meeting at 8:30 am at the SORP Ranger Station where parking is free for volunteers. The parks are beautiful right now and the soil is perfect for maintaining our trails.

Trail Work Day – Santiago Oaks Regional Park – Sunday Dec. 16

Trail Work Day in Santiago Oaks Regional Park this Sunday

It is trail work time in Orange County – time to get dirty and have fun. We have an opportunity this weekend to complete habitat restoration along the fine trails in Santiago Oaks Regional Park. 

  • Date:  Sunday, December 16
  • Time:  8:30 – 12:00
  • Where:  Meet at Park HQ, 2145 N. Windes Drive, Orange
  • What:  Native Planting along trails to restore habitat
  • Bring: Sturdy shoes, work gloves, hat, snacks and water.

Please feel free to ride to the work site or ride after the project. You may want to explore the fine trails in Santiago Oaks Regional Park.

Free parking at the park HQ.  Tell them you are there for the trail work.

Whiting Ranch Poker Ride on September 29 – Sold Out

Join SHARE at the Whiting Ranch Poker Ride benefiting OC Parks presented in partnership with Oakley

This special mountain bike event through Limestone Canyon and Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park is on September 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Get information here.

Participants can challenge themselves on the trails by selecting a route that fits their riding ability and visit poker checkpoints along the way.  After visiting each checkpoint, riders will receive their poker hand at the finish line. The riders with the best poker hands will be awarded prizes from Oakley and other cycle partners. The grand prize is a Compulsion LTD mountain bike frame donated by Felt Bicycles.

SHARE will have a booth in the vendor village set up at the Glenn Ranch staging area finish line for post ride fun with lots of vendors and local out door focused organizations.  Food available for purchase.

2012 Trails 4 All Inner Coastal and Watershed Cleanup Day at Trabuco Creek

Saturday September 15 @ 8 am

Please join us at the Trails 4 All 2012 California Coastal and Watershed Cleanup Day at Trabuco Creek.  Join the fun! SHARE and Warrior’s Society members will be there to remove trash from Trabuco Creek on Saturday, September 15 at 8am.

  • Date:  Saturday, September 15, 2012
  • Location:  Trabuco Canyon, meet at Live Oak Canyon Road and Trabuco Creek
  • Time:  8:00am to noon, we are starting early due to the heat
  • Bring: gloves, sturdy shoes and pick up truck.  We will have water.
  • Task:  Remove trash dumped along Trabuco Creek
  • Grub:  Lunch served at noon
