2009 Burn in Kern

Where can you ride for 2 days, 58+ miles, eat 1 pasta dinner with giant cookies for dessert, 1 pancake breakfast and drink 1 keg of Stone IPA all in the company of some damn good people.

It all starts here!

The camp site was right on the river at Kernville Mountain and Rivers Resort.

We loaded all 29 bikes on this trailer and headed up the mountain.

Day 1 top of Portuguese Pass.

Everyone stopped for a little ice cream at the bottom which was well deserved after 33 miles of riding.
Then back to the camp for some beer and relaxing in the river.

Day 2, the Cannell Plunge from the peak.
Here is Jady showing us how its done.
Beautiful meadow along the way.
Just a short break before moving on. We started this ride at 9000 feet and it was pretty cold. Although we did have a great view of Whitney.
Reed doing a little climbing.
The famous cabin on the ride.
Here is a nice shot as we start to head down the plunge.

Everyone had a great time and there was little mishaps. 25 miles the second day proved to be a long two days. I hope everyone was as sore as I was. Until the next adventure!!!
